Contraception & Family Planning in Delhi

Choosing a method that fits your health, your plans and your life.

What contraception & family planning involves

Contraceptive choice depends on whether you want children later, your medical history, how much you want to think about it day to day, and what side effects you are prepared to tolerate. There is no single best method, only the one that fits you.

We go through the full range — from condoms and combined pills to the copper and hormonal IUDs, implants, injectables and permanent methods — with honest information about failure rates, side effects and reversibility.

Who this is for

  • Spacing pregnancies, or completing your family
  • Wanting to stop the pill or change method
  • Heavy periods where a hormonal IUD treats both problems
  • Medical conditions that make some methods unsuitable

Not everything on this list means you need this treatment. The workup comes first, and the recommendation follows from what it shows — not from what was booked before you arrived.

Step by step

  1. Discussion

Your plans, medical history, migraine, clot and blood pressure history reviewed.

  2. Options

Efficacy, side effects, reversibility and cost of each method explained plainly.

  3. Insertion or prescription

IUD or implant fitted in clinic, or a prescription with a follow-up plan.

  4. Review

Checked after the first few months, with an easy route to change if it does not suit.

Your results, in writing

Whatever the outcome of contraception & family planning, you leave each stage with the findings written down — what was done, what was found, what it means, and what the options are from here. Reports are issued the same day wherever the laboratory allows it.

Treated by the consultant, not by a rotating team

Dr. Tiwari performs the scans, the procedure and the follow-up herself, and looks after any pregnancy that results. Over a long treatment course that continuity is the difference between being known and being processed.

Questions about contraception & family planning

Will the pill affect my future fertility?

No. Fertility returns to your baseline within a cycle or two of stopping. The injectable is the one exception, where return can take several months.

Is a copper IUD suitable if I have not had children?

Yes. Insertion may be slightly more uncomfortable, but it is safe and effective. A hormonal IUD is often preferred if periods are already heavy.

Talk it through before you commit

Consultations run for a full hour. Bring any previous reports — they are reviewed properly, not repeated.
